CONGRATULATIONS TO THE O'KANE POULTRY TEAM
On Thursday 11th September, Co-op Retail Trading Awards were held in the Manchester Central Convention Complex. The winner of each award was entered into 'Supreme Supplier of the Year' Award which which was announced at the end of the evening.
It was a successful night for O'Kane Poultry - we picked up two Awards:
- Innovative Product Launch of the year - Fresh/Frozen
- Supreme Supplier of the year
O'Kane Poultry was represented by Alastair Gibson Account Director, Jenni Gowdy account manager, Peter Morgan Agricultural Manager and Robert Logan Elmwood Farmer.
GOLD ACCREDITATION FOR O'KANES
Since 1993 the Guild has organised the Great Taste Awards, the national benchmark for speciality food and drink, which attracts over 4500 entries each year. The GTA has gained widespread recognition among the country's retailers and consumers and is now seen as the benchmark for fine food in the UK. Those products fortunate enough to receive an award cannot only claim to be of the finest quality, but prove it too. All entries undergo rigorous tests by a specially selected panel of experts, including leading chefs, buyers, food critics and deli owners.
We were recently awarded a two star gold accreditation for our southern fried coated chicken, at this years Great Taste Awards. Of the 4873 products entered, only 639 achieved a 1-star, 308 a two-star and only 83 three-star gold's were awarded. CONGRATULATIONS TO RADU CIUPERCA
On Wednesday 22nd April the Essential Skills Awards were held in the Throne Room at Hillsborough Castle.
Radu Ciuperca was the Co Antrim Award winner for Literacy. Radu was presented his award by BBC presenter Sarah Travers.
