Free Range Chicken
We produce free range chicken on specially selected farms. Birds have full access to pasture during day light hours. We use specially selected slow growing strains of chicken for our free range. The fact that birds are able to graze out on pasture & exercise more than conventional chickens mean they develop a much fuller flavour.
We deliberately chose small single house sites to grow our free range birds on so the birds have as much room as possible to graze outside.
Free Range Turkey
Okane Poultry have been producing free range turkeys for over 20 years and have developed both white and bronze feathered strains which are ideally suited to free range production. The turkeys are reared on free range farms from approximately 6 weeks old in either purpose built housing or existing farm buildings. They enjoy continuous daytime access to pasture and are fed our own cereal based diets which combines to produce quality turkeys with superb flavour and succulence.
